Without wearing a layer of sun cream, your skin is at risk of being exposed to harmful UV rays which can lead to skin damage, wrinkles, sunburn, and sometimes skin cancer.
It’s important to wear an SPF of at least 30 to ensure you’re protected.
Which sun cream is best for acne-prone skin?
If you have oily, acne-prone skin, it’s important to choose a sunscreen expertly formulated for the face.
You’ll want to look for one that’s non-comedogenic and oil-free, so it won’t block your pores and increase shine.
How long does sun cream last?
Sunscreen usually lasts for at least 3 years before it goes bad, and after this time, it becomes less effective at blocking UV rays, increasing your chances of getting sunburn or skin cancer.
However, if your bottle is less than 3 years old but it’s been left in a hot car for a couple of months, it probably won’t be very effective, either.
What age can my baby wear sun cream?
It’s recommended to only use sun cream when your baby is at least 6 months old.
This is because their skin is very delicate and thinner than adult skin, which could result in them developing a rash or irritation.
The NHS advises that you should keep babies under 6 months out of direct sunlight.
