What are Stugeron Tablets?

Stugeron Tablets are an effective remedy for nausea and other symptoms caused by travel sickness. Stugeron Tablets contain the active ingredient cinnarizine, which helps to control symptoms caused by balance or movement problems. This is what makes Stugeron Tablets perfect for anyone planning to travel by car, boat or air.

What causes travel sickness?

Travel sickness, also known as motion sickness, is what happens when the signals from your eyes and the signals from your inner ear confuse the brain. When what your eyes and ears sense doesn't match up, for example, when you're moving up and down as a boat travels through the waves, but your brain also thinks you’re standing still. This confusion in the brain makes you feel sick or throw up.

How will the cinnarizine in Stugeron tablets help to ease my travel sickness?

Stugeron tablets contain 15mg of the active ingredient cinnarizine, which is an antihistamine. When the signals in your brain become confused, it can begin producing a natural substance called histamine, which tells your body to feel or be sick. Cinnarizine blocks histamine, keeping it from telling your stomach to feel sick and easing your travel symptoms in the process.

Can I use this product for anything other than travel sickness?

Stugeron tablets can also be used to reduce symptoms caused by movement or balance problems. For example, in those who have Meniere's disease, this product can be used to ease symptoms such as dizziness, light-headedness, feeling or being sick, or ringing in your ears.

Can I drive after taking these tablets?

Stugeron tablets can make you feel drowsy. If this happens to you, do not attempt to drive or use any tools or machinery until you are sure that you are safe to do so. If you’re taking these tablets because you’re planning on driving, remember to have backup transportation, as someone else may need to drive if you’re too drowsy to do so safely.

Can I drink alcohol while I’m taking this product?

You should avoid drinking alcohol while you’re taking Stugeron. This is because these tablets can cause drowsiness and drinking alcohol can make this worse.

Can I take these travel sickness tablets if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

You should not take Stugeron travel sickness tablets if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding. If you’re worried about travel sickness at this time, speak to your doctor or pharmacist and ask them to recommend a suitable treatment.

Can I take this product if I’m taking other medication?

If you’re taking any other medication, including those you obtained without a prescription, you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using this product. This especially applies if you’re taking medication for:

  • Anxiety
  • Difficulty sleeping or insomnia
  • Pain
  • Depression

Can I buy Stugeron over the counter?

This includes some simple questions that all pharmacies legally are required to ask before supplying this kind of product. This helps our pharmacy team to be sure that this product is the best choice for you.
