What are Pantoloc Control 20mg Gastro-Resistant Tablets?

Pantoloc Control Tablets are a form of treatment that is intended to treat conditions such as heartburn. The active ingredient in these tablets, pantoprazole, is a drug that blocks the production of stomach acid that goes into the chest and throat and causes heartburn and a sore throat.

What causes heartburn?

Heartburn if felt with a burning sensation in the chest and also an unpleasant taste in the mouth. This is caused by stomach acid that has entered the throat and chest as a result of excessive acid being produced. There are a number of potential causes of heartburn, which include:

  • Certain food and drink – coffee, alcohol, chocolate, fatty or spicy foods
  • Being overweight
  • Smoking
  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Pregnancy

The cause of heartburn might not always be obvious. Some medicines such as a hiatus hernia, where part of the stomach moves up into the chest, can also cause heartburn.

Who are these Pantoloc tablets suitable for?

These tablets are suitable to be used by adults only. They should not be taken by anyone who is allergic to the ingredients contained in the tablets. Anyone who is using HIV protease inhibitors, such as atazanavir or nelfinavir should also not use them. If you are currently using, or have used, any other medicines recently then speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using.

Can someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding use these tablets?

These tablets are not recommended to be used by anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding.

How should Pantoloc Control 20mg Gastro-Resistant Tablets be used?
