Numark Ibuprofen Lysine are pain relief tablets that can be used to ease lots of different kinds of everyday pains.

 

What kinds of pain can Numark Ibuprofen Lysine be used for?

Numark Ibuprofen Lysine can be used to relieve many different kinds of pain. Some of the most popular reasons to use this painkiller include:

  • Period pain
  • Rheumatic pain
  • Muscular pain
  • Backache
  • Toothache
  • Neuralgia (nerve pain)
  • Headache
  • Migraine
  • Fever (high temperature)
  • Symptoms of cold and flu

 

How will this product help to ease my pain?

Numark Ibuprofen Lysine contains 342mg of the active ingredient ibuprofen lysine. This is the lysine salt of ibuprofen, which is a common painkiller than many people use to ease everyday aches and pains. Ibuprofen is a member of a group of medicines known as Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs or NSAIDs. This means that Numark Ibuprofen Lysine can help to ease swelling and inflammation as well as your pain.

 

How to take these tablets

Take 1 – 2 tablets with water, preferably with or after food. Take another dose of 1 – 2 tablets every four hours if necessary. Be sure to leave 4 hours between each dose and do not take more than 6 tablets in any 24-hour period.

 

When should Numark Ibuprofen Lysine not be used?

Numark Ibuprofen Lysine is not suitable for use by children under the age of 12. Do not take this product if you are allergic to ibuprofen or any of the other listed ingredients. Do not take Numark Ibuprofen Lysine if you:

  • Have or have had more than 2 episodes of a stomach ulcer, perforation or bleeding of the stomach
  • Have severe kidney, heart, or liver failure
  • Are taking aspirin with a daily dose of more than 75mg
  • Are in the last 3 months of pregnancy

Speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before taking this product if you:

  • Are elderly as you may be at more risk of serious side effects
  • Have or have suffered from asthma, diabetes, high cholesterol, or have allergies
  • Have liver or kidney problems
  • Have stomach or bowel disorders, including Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis
  • Have Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) – an illness which affects your immune system
  • Have, have previously had, or are at risk of heart problems, high blood pressure or stroke
  • Are in the first 6 months of pregnancy or are breastfeeding

Numark Ibuprofen Lysine should not be taken with some medications as they can interact. For a full list of which medications should not be taken with this product please read the patient information leaflet carefully.

 

Does this product have any side effects?

Like all medicines, Numark Ibuprofen Lysine, can have side effects although not everyone will experience them. These side effects include:

  • Signs of intestinal bleeding, e.g. vomiting blood or dark particles that look like coffee grounds, black tarry stools, blood in your stools
  • Signs of serious allergic reaction, e.g. asthma, unexplained wheezing, shortness of breath, swelling of the face, lips, tongue and throat, difficulty swallowing or breathing, rapid heart rate, severe skin reactions with rashes, blistering, and peeling skin
  • A severe skin reaction known as DRESS, including symptoms of skin rash, fever, swelling of lymph nodes, increase in a type of white blood cells called eosinophils
  • Stomach discomfort or pain, nausea, indigestion, heartburn
  • Headache
  • Skin reactions, such as hives, rash, and itching
  • Diarrhoea, flatulence, constipation, vomiting
  • Stomach ulcer or perforation, worsening of bowel problems, ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease
  • Kidney problems with symptoms of passing more or less urine than usual, cloudy urine, blood in the urine, pain in the back and/or swelling, very rarely kidney failure
  • Liver problems with symptoms such as yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice), pale coloured stools, dark urine
  • Blood disorders with symptoms such as unexplained or unusual bleeding or bruising, sore throat, mouth ulcers, fever, extreme paleness or weakness, exhaustion
  • High blood pressure, heart failure, swelling due to fluid build-up, stroke

If you experience these or any other side effects while using Numark Ibuprofen Lysine, stop use and speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist right away.
