What are Numark Ranitidine 75mg Film-Coated Tablets?

These Numark Ranitidine Tablets are a form of treatment for the effects of indigestion and heartburn. The active ingredient in these tablets is ranitidine, which is part of a group of drugs known as H2-Blockers. H2-Blockers are a group of drugs that stop too much stomach acid that is produced, which causes indigestion and heartburn. These tablets work for up to 12 hours.

What causes indigestion?

Indigestion is caused when the stomach acid irritates the lining of the stomach as a result of overproduction of the acid. This can also irritate the chest and throat, causing heartburn. Other symptoms of indigestion include feeling full and feeling sick. You may also experience flatulence and bringing up bitter food. Medicines, smoking, and alcohol can also cause indigestion.

Who are these tablets suitable for?

These tablets should only be used by adults and children aged 16 and over. They should not be used by anyone who is allergic to ranitidine or any other ingredient that is contained in the tablets. They should also not be used if any of the following applies to you:

  • You have difficulty swallowing
  • Have unintended weight loss
  • Are middle-aged or older with new indigestion symptoms
  • Persistent stomach pain
  • Have kidney or liver problems
  • Are under medical supervision
  • Have breathing problems
  • Have a peptic ulcer
  • Have a weak immune system
  • Suffer from diabetes

If you are using any other medication, speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using these tablets.

Can someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding use these tablets?

Anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding should seek advice from a medical professional before using these tablets.

How should Numark Ranitidine 75mg Film-Coated Tablets be used?

Swallow a tablet as soon as you feel the symptoms of indigestion and heartburn. If symptoms don’t subside after an hour take another tablet. Do not take more than 2 tablets in a 24-hour period and do not use this treatment for more than 6 days.

Are there any side effects?

Like with many types of medication, there is a chance of side effects. Potential side effects when using these tablets include:
