What is Kelo-cote Advanced Formula Scar Gel?

Kelo-cote Advanced Formula Scar Gel is the only gel that has been clinically proven to reduce the appearance of scars and also redness on the skin. It works after just 5 minutes to provide waterproof protection.

What types of scars can this gel be used for?

Kelo-cote can be used for scars caused by several different things. These include:

  • Cosmetic surgery
  • Surgery
  • Burn Scars
  • C-section
There are two main types of scarring, keloid scars and hypertrophic scars. Keloid scars are caused by excess tissue growing over the skin, even where the scarring has stopped. Keloid scars are raised above the rest of the skin and can often be itchy. Hypertrophic scars start as red, raised scars but over time, will reduce in redness. These scars don't extend onto more skin but can thicken for up to six months.

Who is Kelo-cote Scar Gel suitable for?

It is suitable for adults and children, including those who have sensitive skin. It is not suitable for anyone who is allergic to the ingredients contained in the gel, which include:

  • Polysiloxanes
  • Silicon Dioxide

Is this gel suitable for someone pregnant or breastfeeding?

Yes, this gel can reduce the scars caused by pregnancy and can be used during pregnancy and afterwards as well.

Can Kelo-cote be used with other medication?

If you are using any medication, consult your doctor before using. This is because of the ingredients in Kelo-cote and the other medication could interfere with each other.

How should I use the gel?

To use the gel, apply it to the affected area of the skin. You should use it for 60-90 days and can use it for longer if necessary. It can be used on both old and new scars.

Are there any side effects?

A side effect will most likely be as a result of an allergic reaction. If you do notice a side effect, contact your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist as soon as possible. You can also record any side effect that you notice using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
