Ibuprofen Tablets are a strong and reliable painkiller which can be used to ease pain caused by many different ailments or illnesses. They can also help to reduce swelling and fever, easing these symptoms while relieving your pain. Ibuprofen 400mg Tablets come in packs of 24 or 48.

How will these tablets help to relieve my pain?

Ibuprofen Tablets contain 400mg of the active ingredient ibuprofen, which is one of a group of painkillers known as Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs or (NSAIDs). This means that while ibuprofen is an effective pain relief, it can also help to reduce inflammation, swelling, fever and high temperatures. This makes it ideal for those suffering with cold and flu symptoms as well as any other kinds of pain or inflammation.


How to use Ibuprofen Tablets.

Take 1 Ibuprofen Tablet with a glass of water up to 3 times a day, after food. Leave at least 4 hours before each dose and do not take more than 3 tablets in any 24-hour period.

When should Ibuprofen Tablets not be used?

Ibuprofen Tablets are not suitable for use by children under the age of 12. Do not use this product if you are allergic to ibuprofen, aspirin, other NSAIDs, or any of the other listed ingredients. Do not use Ibuprofen Tablets if you:

  • Are taking any other NSAID painkillers, such as aspirin, with a daily dose of more than 75mg.
  • Suffer from kidney disease.
  • Suffer from heart disease.
  • Are in the last 3 months of pregnancy.
  • Have or have had a stomach ulcer, perforation, bleeding, or any other gastric complaint caused by NSAIDs.
  • Have or have had asthma, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, a stroke, heart, liver, kidney, or bowel problems.
  • Are a smoker.
  • Are suffering from gastrointestinal disorders such as ulcerative colitis, or Crohn’s disease.
  • Suffer from Lupus (SLE).

Ibuprofen Tablets should not be taken at the same time as a number of different medicines, to see which medicines this product should not be taken with this product please read the patient information leaflet fully.


Does this product have any side effects?

Like all medicines, Ibuprofen Tablets can have side effects, although not everyone will get them. These side effects include:

  • Blood in your faeces or black, tarry stools
  • Vomiting blood or dark particles that look like coffee grounds
  • Severe headaches, high temperature, stiffness of neck, nausea, vomiting, disorientation, or intolerance to light
  • Indigestion or heartburn
  • Abdominal pain, stomach pain, or any other unusual stomach symptoms
  • Unexplained wheezing, shortness of breath, skin rash, itching, or bruising
  • Yellowing of the eyes and/or skin
  • Severe sore throat with high fever
  • Blurred or disturbed vision
  • Hearing or seeing strange things
  • Fluid retention, e.g. swollen ankles
  • Allergic reaction, e.g. hives, skin rashes, itching
  • Feeling sick
  • Headache
  • Diarrhoea, wind, constipation, being sick
  • Heart failure
  • Abnormal blood counts, causing fever, sore throat, mouth ulcers, flu-like symptoms, severe exhaustion, easily bruising or bleeding.
