What are Hydromoor Eye Drops?

Hydromoor Eye Drops contain the active ingredient hypromellose, a type of medicine known as an eye lubricant used for the treatment of mild to moderate dry eyes. Hypromellose works by forming a film on the surface of the eye, producing a moisturising film that acts as artificial tears. These eye drops are preservative-free single unit doses.

How to use these eye drops

Always wash your hands before using Hydromoor Eye Drops. To use eye drops effectively, tilt your head back slightly and hold the dose unit upside down near to your eye without letting it touch your eye. Release a drop into your eye and close your eye for a minute or two. It may help to press gently on the side of your nose where the corner of your eye meets your nose, as this will prevent the drops from draining out through the nostril.

Hydromoor Eye Drops come in single-unit doses that are preservative-free. Each dose should treat both eyes - even if there is any medicine left, you must throw away the dose unit immediately after use.

What are the symptoms of dry eyes?

It can sometimes be difficult to figure out what exactly is causing your eyes to feel uncomfortable. If you’re not completely sure, you should speak to your GP or optometrist for expert advice. You may be suffering with dry eyes if your eyes are:

  • Itchy

  • Sore

  • Gritty

  • Red

  • Blurry

  • Sensitive to light

  • More watery than usual

When should this product not be used?

Always read the patient information leaflet before using these eye drops to make sure they’re suitable for you. Do not use Hydromoor Eye Drops if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. If you are using any other medicines or drops for your eyes, speak to your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist before using these eye drops.

Are there any side effects?

Hydromoor Eye Drops are unlikely to cause any significant side effects, but they may cause mild stinging of the eyes or temporary blurred vision after putting the drops in. If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme
