Understanding the health benefits of CBD Oil

CBD Oil is an increasingly popular form of supplement that is used for a number of different uses.

It has attracted a lot of attention as well because of the fact that is based on the plant cannabis.

Though CBD does share parts with the illegal, recreational plant, there are a number of differences too.

What does CBD stand for?

CBD stands for Cannabidiol, one of over 60 cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant.

There are over 400 chemical entities in the cannabis plant as a whole.

What is CBD?

CBD is a chemical compound from the cannabis plant that acts on the receptors in the brain, altering how functions in the body are operated.

The most infamous cannabinoid is THC, also known as tetrahydrocannabinol.

THC is the chemical that causes the euphoric sensations associated with cannabis.

Can CBD get you high?

In a word, no. CBD Oil contains around 0.2% THC, which is nowhere near the amount required to get someone high.

How does THC get you high?

THC gets someone high because of its properties inside the cannabis plant.

THC is said to be a form of defence for the cannabis plant from insects, UV light, as well as other factors in the environment.

When consumed by humans, THC is what is known as a psychoactive.

Psychoactive drugs influence the brain's cognitive functions in the body, from movement, vision, perception, mood, and behaviour.

The standard functions in the human body are affected when THC is within.

How much THC is in cannabis?

There is no fixed amount of THC in the cannabis plant.

This varies even more so when the plant has been cooked and treated into different forms.

If you're in Amsterdam and fancy a special brownie, you would be looking at around 10-20% THC in the brownie.

For other types, the figure can wildly vary but it is estimated that the figure is in the 50-70% ballpark.

Please Note: We do not condone the consumption of any cannabis-based brownie, cookie, or any other form of cannabis for recreational use.

Is CBD legal?

Yes, because it only contains a small amount of THC, and cannot get you high.

It has been a contentious issue though, as the amount of THC contained in the various CBD products has been said to differ from what the manufacturer states.

Does CBD help with pain?

CBD Oil has a number of different uses.

One of those is pain relief.

Scientists have discovered that CBD can provide pain relief by impacting on the endocannabinoids produced by the body, which includes reducing inflammation.

Studies have shown that CBD helps with treating arthritis and multiple sclerosis.

Are there CBD benefits for Cancer?

CBD is said to help reduce the symptoms caused by cancer, such as vomiting, pain, and nausea.

Some have claimed that CBD could have cancer-fighting properties, such as killing the cells in breast cancer.

Though more testing will be required in order to prove its cancer-fighting properties.

Can someone use CBD Oil for anxiety?

Yes, it can be used to treat anxiety and depression.

Around the world, tablets are used for anxiety as well as depression.

CBD, unlike those tablets, is made from natural ingredients and they are not potentially addictive like antidepressants such as benzodiazepines.

Can CBD help with sleep?

Because it contains qualities that help with depression and anxiety, CBD can help those who struggle to get sleep.

This works by reducing the anxiety that often causes lack of sleep, or insomnia, and helps increase the amount of sleep that users get after using CBD.

Are there any other benefits to CBD Oil?

CBD Oil is said to help with helping those with neurological disorders.

Because CBD can act on the endocannabinoid system, which affects how the brain functions.

CBD can reduce the effects of epilepsy and other neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s disease.

There is also potential that it could treat Alzheimer’s, as tests have shown that CBD can reduce the progression of the disease, though more testing is still needed.

CBD Oil is used and sold as a food supplement.

This is because it is rich in omega-3 and omega-6, as well as other vitamins.

Omega-3 help with reducing the risk of heart disease, depression, dementia, and arthritis.

Omega-6 helps to lower cholesterol and supports the skin.

Are there any side effects to using CBD?

CBD is known to be safe to use, though it can potentially cause a number of side effects. These include:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Psychosis
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Drowsiness
  • Dry mouth
  • Dizziness
  • Diarrhoea
  • Changes in appetite

CBD can also interfere with a number of different types of medication, reducing their effectiveness.

If you are taking medication, you should speak to your doctor before using CBD.

How is CBD Oil made?

CBD Oil is made by extracting the CBD from the cannabis plant and then diluted.

To extract the CBD, either alcohol or carbon dioxide (CO2) is used.

Alcohol extraction is the older, more traditional technique.

This technique was first used by a man named Rick Simpson.

To extract the CBD using alcohol, you soak the plant in alcohol and the resulting liquid produced contains the CBD.

This liquid is then evaporated, leaving only the CBD oil remains, which is then added to the relevant products to consume. Others use ethanol to extract the CBD instead of alcohol.

The CO2 technique is a more complex form of extraction, used by CannibiGold, but it allows for more advanced selection of chemicals to use.

The CO2 method requires forcing the gas through the plant and using chambers to regulate pressure and temperature.

This forces the CBD solution to react and separate.

The result is the different cannabinoids ending up in the different chambers, which allows for a choice of chemicals to use in the products.

How do I use CBD Oil?

To use CBD Oil, you shake the bottle before use and squeeze the dropper to get the CBD Oil into it.

You then squeeze the solution onto the back of your tongue and let it rest for 1-2 minutes.

After that, you should swallow the CBD Oil. You can take it numerous times throughout the day as needed.

What's the difference between 5% and 30% CBD oil?

The percentage difference between different CBD Oils refers to the amount of cannabidiol in the oil.

What this means is that a 30% CBD Oil is more likely to treat conditions such as anxiety or insomnia.

You should also be aware that side effects could be more pronounced because of the higher CBD concentration as well.
