What is Gillette SkinGuard Sensitive Razor?
The Gillette SkinGuard Sensitive Razor is the newest razor from Gillette that is designed for those who have sensitive skin and suffer from irritation when using any other form of the razor. This razor has 2 blades, which a guard between them that reduces irritation and protects the skin. The blades are raised slightly in order to reduce contact with the skin and minimise hair pull and tug. There is also a guard around the skin that makes it easier to move the razor around without potential skin redness.
What is the difference between the Gillette SkinGuard and other Gillette razors?
The Gillette SkinGuard’s 2 razors with a guard in the middle are unlike the others in the range. The Mach 3, the ‘classic’ Gillette razor, has 3 blades and the newer Fusion 5 range has 5 blades closer together for a more effective shave. Having more blades does increase skin contact and can lead to skin irritation. This makes the SkinGurard unique in the Gillette Range.
Can the Gillette SkinGuard handle use any other Gillette Blades?
In a word, yes. The SkinGuard handle is identical to the one used with the following Gillette blades:
- Fusion 5
- Fusion 5 ProGlide
- Fusion 5 ProShield
- Fusion ProShield Chill
This means that you can use any of these refills with the SkinGuard handle, and vice versa. If you are using a Mach 3 razor, then you can only use the Mach 3 range of blades, Mach 3, Mach 3 Turbo, and Mach 3 Sensitive.
When shouldn’t the Gillette SkinGuard Sensitive Razor be used?
If you do not suffer from sensitive skin and irritation when shaving, then the SkinGuard razor may not offer the best shave for you. This razor should also not be used if you have a sensitivity to the ingredients contained in the guard, which include grape seed oil, avocado oil, and glycol.
