How we are regulated

Diarrhoea

Diarrhoea is a common but unpleasant condition that can cause you to pass stools that are looser and more frequent than normal. It can be caused by a variety of factors and usually affects people from time to time.

It can be a symptom of a bowel infection such as gastroenteritis or caused by a food allergy or food poisoning, anxiety or a long-term condition, such as IBS. Frequent diarrhoea can cause complications such as dehydration due to the amount of fluid being lost when passing watery stools.

How do Diarrhoea treatments work?

Diarrhoea isn’t usually serious and shouldn’t be a cause for concern.

However, if you are experiencing frequent or severe diarrhoea, it is important to seek advice from a medical professional.

You can be prescribed medications like Loperamide, which help to slow your system down and stop your diarrhoea.

You could also be recommended treatments to keep you hydrated, as you usually lose a lot of fluid when you have diarrhoea, which can lead to complications if it isn't dealt with.

If you’re struggling with diarrhoea, fill in our quick questionnaire and one of our Prescriber will identify what the best treatment is for you.

Your treatment will be shipped to you from our pharmacy, directly and discreetly, in plain packaging.
