Frequently Asked Questions

How do penis pumps work?

Penis pumps work by forming a tight vacuum around the penis, encouraging the blood flow needed to achieve an erection. It’s the ideal solution if you’re struggling with erectile dysfunction (ED).

Can I use a penis pump for erectile dysfunction?

A penis pump is a male sexual health device that may help with erectile dysfunction (ED) by helping to get and sustain an erection. It works by forming a tight vacuum around the penis, encouraging the blood flow needed to achieve an erection. Once erect, it’s recommended to place a silicone ring over the base of the penis to prolong the duration of the erection.

What causes erectile dysfunction?

Erectile dysfunction, sometimes known as impotence, is a common problem amongst men and may be caused by age, being overweight, smoking, drinking too much alcohol, or having a medical condition like diabetes, high blood pressure, or cardiovascular disease.

The inability to create or maintain an erection happens when there isn’t enough blood flowing to the penis, if the penis cannot trap blood, or when the nerve signals don’t send the signal of arousal to the penis.

Diabetes can cause nerve damage in the penis, in addition to certain cancer treatments affecting its functionality.

How do you use a penis pump?

You’ll want to start with a full or semi-erect penis. Apply lubrication to your penis and to the opening of the pump to enable your penis to slide in with ease. Then, insert the shaft of your penis into the cylinder until the base of the pump is pressed firmly against your body so it’s airtight.

Press the air-release button and start to pump slowly; you’ll want to get used to the sensations and pressure before picking up your speed. Continue pumping until your penis is firmly erect, going as fast or as slow as you like. Stop and check your penis - if there’s any unusual discolouration or prominent veins, then stop. If not, continue pumping.
