Frequently Asked Questions

What colour eyebrow makeup should I get?

If you’ve got blonde hair, choose cooler tones but don’t go for a shade that's over two tones darker than your natural hair colour.

If you’ve got brown hair, generally you should stay one or two shades in the range of your hair colour.

Red hair can be tricky to colour match, so choose a reddish, warm brown colour or if your hair is strawberry blonde, choose a dark blonde colour.

For black hair, it’s tempting to go straight for pure black, but this can be too harsh.

Instead, go for a medium to dark brown.

What eyebrow products should I use?

There are lots of different products out there to style and shape your brows.

Reach for an eyebrow pencil (don’t go too dark!) if your brows have gaps, asymmetry or thin tails.

Brow powders are great for anyone to achieve soft brows - but if your skin’s on the drier side, you should avoid powder as it can make your skin flake.

If your brows are thick, coarse and unruly, try an eyebrow gel to tame those hairs.

What makeup brushes do I need?

The makeup brushes you need depends on how much or the type of makeup you usually apply.

The standard makeup bag may consist of a makeup sponge, a foundation brush, a fluffy powder brush, a bronzer and a blusher brush, a flat and a crease eyeshadow brush, an eyebrow and lip brush, and a brush to apply highlighter.

What makeup products do you need for the face?

With the amount of cosmetics on the market, it can be overwhelming to someone who is experienced with makeup, never mind to a beginner!

So, we’ll simplify it for you.

To have great looking makeup, you need a good base, so always start with a primer.

This should be followed by concealer (try getting a shade lighter for underneath the eyes), foundation, powder, bronzer, blusher and highlighter.
