What is Dentinox Teething Gel?

Dentinox Teething Gel is a form of treatment that helps to reduce the pain and irritation in the mouth caused by teething. This gel contains two active ingredients, lidocaine and cetylpyridinium. Lidocaine is a local anaesthetic that helps to numb the pain and cetylpyridinium is an antiseptic that treats minor wounds and infections in the mouth.

How long does it take for a tooth to come in?

Once a tooth has pushed through the gum, it will cause symptoms associated such as pain. Symptoms begin around 4 days the tooth has come in and up to 3 days afterwards. The first tooth can appear anytime between 3 months and 15 months of age.

Who is this gel suitable for?

Dentinox is suitable to be used for younger children aged 5 months and older currently suffering from the effects of teething. It should not be used if the child is allergic to any of the ingredients contained in the gel. Do not use if any other treatment is currently being used that contains lidocaine. If any other form of treatment is being used, speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using Dentinox.

How should Dentinox Teething Gel be used?

Apply a pea-sized amount to your finger and spread it evenly into the affected area of the child’s mouth. Repeat the process after 3 hours if needed. Do not apply more than 6 times a day. Do not use for more than 7 days. If after 7 days the condition has not improved, consult a medical professional for advice.

Are there any side effects?

There are no known side effects. However, if you do notice any side effect from this gel, stop using and speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist as soon as possible. You can also record any side effect that you notice using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
