What are Audmonal Forte (Alverine) 120mg Capsules?

Audmonal Forte Capsules is a treatment for the symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). These capsules contain the active ingredient alverine. Alverine is what is known as an antispasmodic. Antispasmodics are drugs that help to provide relief for muscle spasms. This means that these capsules can relieve pain in the gut and the womb.

 

What is IBS?

IBS is a condition that can affect anyone. The cause of it is unknown at this time, but it is believed that it can be caused by food moving too quickly or too slowly inside the gut. Stress and also family history are said to be potential causes. There is no cure for the condition but it can be reduced with the correct treatment. Symptoms of IBS include constipation, diarrhoea, stomach pains, and bloating.

 

Who are these capsules for?

These Audmonal Forte Capsules are suitable to be used by adults and children aged 12 and over. Anyone who is allergic to the ingredients in these capsules should not use them. They should also not be used if you have an obstruction in the gut or your small bowel is not working properly.

 

Can someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding use these capsules?

These capsules should not be used by anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding unless they have been advised to do so by a doctor.

 

How should Audmonal Forte (Alverine) 120mg Capsules be used?

These Audmonal Forte Capsules should be taken between 1-2 times a day. The recommended dosage is 1 capsule. Do not exceed this. To take these capsules, use a glass of water and swallow. Do not chew these capsules.

 

Are there any side effects?

Like with many types of medication, there is a chance of side effects. Potential side effects include:

  • Yellowing of the eyes
  • Difficulty breathing
  • A rash
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • A headache
  • An allergic reaction
