Travel Sickness & Nausea 25mg - 10 Tablets are used to prevent and treat travel sickness. 

How Travel Sickness & Nausea 25mg - 10 Tablets work

Travel Sickness & Nausea 25mg contains the active ingredient promethazine teoclate. Promethazine teoclate is an antiemetic. 

The tablets help to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting, including travel sickness and vertigo. 

Directions

Always take Travel Sickness & Nausea 25mg - 10 Tablets exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you. 

Adults
For the prevention of travel sickness on long journeys
Take one tablet at bedtime, starting the night before you travel. 

For the prevention of travel sickness on short journeys
Take one tablet 1-2 hours before travelling.

To treat travel sickness
Take 1 tablet as soon as you feel sick. You should take another tablet the same evening. If necessary, you may take a third tablet the following evening. 

Nausea and vomiting due to other causes
1 tablet at night should be enough to help with nausea and vomiting. Sometimes, 2 or 3 tablets might be required. You can take the tablets at different intervals of the day. Do not take more than 4 tablets in any 24-hour period. 

Children
Children over 10 years old
1 tablet should be given to your child. 

Children 5-10 years old
Half a tablet should be given to your child.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Travel Sickness & Nausea 25mg - 10 Tablets may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects include: 

• Headaches 
• Dizziness 
• Restlessness
• Confusion 
• Tiredness
• Dry mouth 
• Difficulty passing water
• Loss of appetite 
• Upset stomach 
• Nightmares
• Cramp, muscle twitching or rigid muscles 
• Unusual movements of the muscles in the face or head
• Children may become over-excited whilst taking this medicine

Serious side effects

Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness. 

Warnings

Travel Sickness & Nausea 25mg - 10 Tablets may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not take these tablets if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if you have central nervous system (CNS) depression.

Talk to your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist before taking this medicine if: 

• You have glaucoma 
• You have epilepsy 
• You have heart problems
• You have liver problems 
• You have kidney or bladder problems
• You have a chest condition such as asthma or bronchitis 

If you are having skin tests for allergies, do not take this medicine as it interferes with the results. You must stop taking this medication at least 72 hours before the tests. 

Do not take these tablets if you are having a pregnancy test as it can alter your results.

Using/taking other medicines

If you are taking or have recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist before taking these tablets. 

You must tell your healthcare provider if you are taking the following medication:

• Anticholinergic agents 
• Medication to help you sleep (hypnotics) 
• Medication for depression, mental illness or anxiety (e.g. tricyclic antidepressants or sedatives)
• Medicines for stomach pain, Parkinson’s disease or bladder problems

Age restrictions 

Travel Sickness & Nausea 25mg - 10 Tablets are not suitable for children under 5 years old.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

You should not take these tablets if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless you have been advised to do so by a healthcare professional.  If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before taking any new medicine. 

Alcohol

Avoid drinking alcohol whilst taking these tablets. These tablets can add to the effects of alcohol.

Driving and operating machinery 

These tablets can make you feel dizzy, sleepy, disoriented or confused. You should not drive or operate machinery for the first few days to be sure you are not affected. 

Storage information

Store in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
