What are Nytol Original Tablets?

Nytol Original is a specially formulated remedy for short-term sleeplessness and stress. It has been shown to help sufferers of insomnia fall asleep faster, have a longer and deeper sleep, and to wake up feeling rested in the morning.

What is insomnia?

Insomnia is a sleep disorder which can stop you from getting a full night’s sleep. Everyone has the occasional sleepless night, but if you find that you regularly struggle to fall or stay asleep you could be suffering from insomnia. When you don’t get enough sleep, you can find it more difficult to concentrate and may feel tired and irritable, which is why many people who suffer from insomnia reach for short-term remedies like Nytol.

How will this product help to treat my insomnia?

Nytol Original contains diphenhydramine hydrochloride, which works by blocking the production of histamine in your body. Histamine stimulates arousal-promoting areas of your brain, so blocking this process helps to encourage the first drowsy stage of sleep and reduce your levels of awareness. This will help you to drift off into a restful night’s sleep.

When should I take Nytol?

If you’ve been suffering through sleepless nights and are looking for a temporary solution which could help you to get some sleep, Nytol Original could be the right product for you. It can help you to get some much-needed rest, perfect for those who are suffering from stress from work or just everyday life. You should take these tablets around 20 minutes before bedtime, making sure you have enough time to get the full night’s sleep this product can provide.

Can I take this product if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before taking this product. Some medications may not be safe for you and your baby at this time, and a medical professional can suggest an alternative product if they think you will need it.

Can I take these tablets if I am taking other medication?

You should speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before taking Nytol if you are taking any other medication, including those you purchased without a prescription. Some medications can interact when taken together, making them less effective or causing unwanted side effects. Speak to your doctor before using this product if you are taking:

  • Tricyclic antidepressants
  • Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) which are prescribed for depression, e.g. Isocarboxazid, Phenelzine, Selegiline, Tranylcypromine
  • Atropine used to dilate the pupils of the eyes
  • Other medicines which make you drowsy
  • Other antihistamines, including those used on the skin and those in cough and cold medicines
