What is athlete’s foot?
Athlete’s foot is a fungal infection which occurs in the skin of your feet, usually starting between the toes. When the fungi which naturally live on your skin are given a warm, moist environment, they can infect your skin with athlete’s foot. This usually happens if your feet sweat a lot and you wear shoes that are too tight.
How does Lamisil Cream treat athlete’s foot?
Lamisil Cream contains the active ingredient terbinafine hydrochloride, which works as an antifungal agent. This means it targets the fungi which cause athlete’s foot, treating the cause of infection while also relieving itching and burning.
How to use Lamisil Cream.
Before using Lamisil Cream, wash and dry the affected area thoroughly and wash your hands. Apply a small amount of cream, just enough to cover the affected area with a thin layer and rub in gently. Do this once a day for one week. When you have finished applying Lamisil Cream, wash your hands.
When should Lamisil Cream not be used?
Lamisil Cream is not suitable for use by those under the age of 16. Do not use Lamisil Cream on your face and do not get cream into your eyes. Do not use Lamisil Cream if you are allergic to any of the listed ingredients.
Like all medicines, Lamisil Cream can have side effects, although not everyone will get them. These side effects include:
- Skin peeling
- Itching
- Skin Lesions
- Scabs
- Skin colour changes
- Redness
- Burning
- Pain and irritation in the area of application
