What is CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser?

CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser is a foaming cleanser which also acts as a gentle exfoliant. It’s perfect for dry or sensitive skin, smoothing its rough, bumpy texture without compromising your skin’s natural protective barrier. It also hydrates your skin, using ceramides to lock in moisture and leave your skin feeling soft and smooth. CeraVe Smoothing Cleanser is free from fragrances, physical exfoliants, and microbeads, and is also non-irritating and non-comedogenic, perfect for those with sensitive skin that’s prone to irritation.

How will CeraVe Smoothing Cleanser cleanse and exfoliate my dry, rough skin?

CeraVe Smoothing Cleanser uses a range of ingredients to cleanse and exfoliate dry, rough, or bumpy skin. The combination of hyaluronic acid, salicylic acid, and 3 essential ceramides work together to hydrate and protect your skin while removing dirt, oil, and makeup. It also works as a gentle exfoliant, smoothing the skin and alleviating that rough, bumpy texture that can often happen when you have dry or sensitive skin.

What does the SA in this product stand for?

The SA in CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser stands for salicylic acid, a star ingredient which acts as a gentle exfoliant for your rough, dry, or bumpy skin. It can exfoliate your skin without the use of microbeads or other harsh ingredients, working perfectly with the hydrating ingredients in CeraVe products so your natural skin barrier isn’t compromised. This cleanser is suitable for sensitive skin, which can often become irritated by exfoliants, as it smooths rough or dry skin gently using salicylic acid, rather than scrubbing it away with physical exfoliants.

What are Ceramides?

Ceramides are natural oils or lipids which are produced in your skin and help to support your skin’s protective barrier. They hold your skin together, helping to keep moisture locked in and maintaining the skin’s natural hydration, while also helping to protect from signs of sensitivity and environmental attacks. Your body creates more ceramides when you’re younger, so as you grow older you may find that your skin is more prone to sensitivity and dryness. This is why CeraVe include ceramides in their skincare products, where they can help to support your natural skin barrier while providing much-needed hydration and leaving your skin looking firm, moisturised, and beautiful.

What skin types is this cleanser suitable for?

CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser is ideal for those who have dry, rough, or bumpy skin. It helps to gently exfoliate your dry skin, smoothing the skin without compromising your skin’s natural barrier. It also helps to hydrate your skin with natural ceramides, which can help to keep your skin soft and smooth in the long run. Although this cleanser is ideal for dry, rough skin, it can also be used for other skin types, including sensitive skin, as it’s gentle, non-comedogenic, and is free from irritants.

Is CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser vegan friendly?

CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser is suitable for both vegans and vegetarians. Not only is this product completely free from ingredients sourced from animals, but it’s also cruelty-free and not tested on animals.

Can this cleanser also remove makeup?

CeraVe Smoothing Cleanser can remove makeup as well as oil and dirt as a part of the cleansing process. However, take special care when removing eye makeup as you should not get this cleanser into your eyes.

How to use this product

Massage CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser onto wet skin and then rinse thoroughly. If you accidentally get this product into your eyes, rinse them immediately with clean water.

When should this cleanser not be used?

Do not use CeraVe Smoothing Cleanser if you are allergic to salicylic acid, hyaluronic acid or any of the other listed ingredients. For use on the skin only, avoid contact with eyes, do not swallow. Avoid contact with broken, bleeding, infected, or otherwise damaged skin. If you experience any irritation while using this product, stop use right away. If irritation persists, speak to your doctor or pharmacist. If irritation is particularly severe (for example, a severe allergic reaction), seek immediate medical assistance.
