What is a Careway TENS Machine?

This Careway TENS Machine helps to relieve aches and pains, including back, shoulder, hand, joint and leg pain. Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) machines work by passing small electrical impulses to the affected areas of your body, which may feel like a tingling sensation.

These electrical impulses are able to reduce the pain signals in your brain and spinal cord, helping to relieve pain and relax muscles. Additionally, it may also stimulate the production of endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers.

This TENS machine is lightweight and portable, so you can take it with you on the go. Better yet, as it’s natural, it can even be used alongside medications. It features 6 programme settings so you can remain in control at all times.

How to use this product

Always use this product exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you.

Is the Careway TENS Machine suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women?

You shouldn’t use this machine if you’re pregnant or think you may be pregnant; it’s usually not recommended in early pregnancy. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before using any new products.

When should this product not be used?

This Careway TENS Machine may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not use this machine before getting medical advice if you have a pacemaker or another type of electrical or metal implant in your body, you're pregnant, or there's a chance you might be pregnant, you have epilepsy or a heart problem, or you have an overactive bladder.

Are there any side effects?

It’s unlikely that you will experience side effects from using a TENS machine, however, some people may be allergic to the pads and their skin may become red and irritated. You should always speak to your GP, physiotherapist or pharmacist if you have any concerns. If you are allergic to the pads, you may need to take a short break from using the TENS machine. However, there are special pads available for people with allergies.
