What is Care Eucalyptus Oil?
Care Eucalyptus Oil is a treatment that is designed to be inhaled in order to treat catarrh. It can also be used to treat minor muscle cramps and sprains. The active ingredient is eucalyptus oil, which works as a decongestant for catarrh and warms muscles that have been affected by sprains and cramps.
What is catarrh?
Catarrh is a condition where the nose is blocked due to a build-up of mucus. It can also affect the throat and other airways as well. It is often a temporary condition but some people can be affected by it for years. This is known as chronic catarrh.
Who is this eucalyptus oil suitable for?
This oil is suitable to be used by adults and children aged 1 and over. It should not be used by anyone who is allergic to eucalyptus oil, or any other ingredients contained in this treatment.
Can this oil be used by someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding?
Anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding should seek medical advice from a doctor before using eucalyptus oil.
How should Care Eucalyptus Oil be used?
For catarrh, this oil can be used in two ways:
- Sprinkle some drops of oil onto a handkerchief and inhale the vapours
- Pour some oil into some hot water and inhale the vapours
For muscle sprains and cramps, apply some oil into the skin and gently massage it into the skin. Do as required for either condition. Do not swallow any of the oil. Doing so can lead to burning in the throat, vomiting, and dizziness.
Are there any side effects?
If used properly, then the chances of side effects should be at a minimum. However, there is still a chance of side effects. Potential side effects include:
- Skin Rashes
- Inhalation could trigger an asthma attack
If you notice any side effect, then stop using immediately and speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist as soon as possible. You can also record any side effect you discover using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
