What is Brulidine Cream?

Brulidine Cream is an antiseptic cream which can be used to treat minor wounds and ailments of the skin. It’s the perfect addition to any first aid kit, helping to prevent infections and keep cuts, grazes, and minor burns clean as they heal.

 

When would I need to use an antiseptic cream?

Antiseptic creams are perfect for treating minor wounds, rashes, and some other minor conditions. Some of the most popular reasons why people use this cream include:

  • Minor burns
  • Minor skin infections
  • Nappy rash
  • Rashes around your beard or moustache
  • Outer ear infections
  • Ringworm of the scalp

 

How will this product help to prevent infections?

Brulidine Cream contains the active ingredient dibrompropamidine isethionate, which is an antiseptic. This means that it kills bacteria and fungi which live on the skin, helping to treat minor wounds and prevent infections in the area.

 

Can I use this product with other medications?

Brulidine Cream is not currently known to interact with any other medicines. However, if you are taking other medication, including those obtained without a prescription, you should speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this product.

 

Can I use this product if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding you should speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this product. This cream may not be suitable for you or your baby at this time and a medical professional may wish to recommend another product.

 

How to use Brulidine Cream

Before using this product, make sure to wash your hands thoroughly. Squeeze a pea-sized amount of cream from the tube and apply to the area you wish to treat. You can apply this product directly to the skin or onto a light dressing. For best results, use 2 – 3 times a day. Wash your hands after using this product, unless you are treating your hands.

 

When should this product not be used?

Do not use Brulidine Cream if you are allergic to dibrompropamidine or any of the other listed ingredients. Speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this product if you have experienced allergic reactions to any creams or ointments in the past. Do not use this product for more than a few days at a time, as this could interfere with healing. Do not use this cream on young children for long periods. For external use only, avoid contact with eyes or other sensitive areas.

 

Does this product have any side effects?

Like all medications, Brulidine Cream can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. If you experience any of the following side effects, stop use and speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist immediately:

  • Rash, itching, or redness around the treated area
  • Rash, itching, or redness on fingers and hands after using this cream

How to store this cream

Store in a cool, dry place which is below 25 degrees C. Store in original packaging and do not use if the expiry date printed on the tube has passed. Keep out of sight and reach of children.

Such a useful cream for scrapes and deep cuts that need a bit more than just water and air to heal . Always keep some in my first aid box.
