Sudafed Blocked Nose Spray is a treatment that is designed to relieve congestion in your nose. The non-drowsy spray can provide you with relief that lasts for up to 10 hours.
How Sudafed Blocked Nose Spray works
Sudafed Blocked Nose Spray contains the active ingredient xylometazoline. Xylometazoline is a decongestant that shrinks the blood vessels in the nasal passages.
Directions
Always use Sudafed Blocked Nose Spray exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you.
Spray in each nostril 2-3 times a day. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
Do not use this product for more than 7 days without speaking to your health care provider first.
Side effects
Like all medicines, Sudafed Blocked Nose Spray may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects include:
- Burning in the nose
- Sore nose
- Dyness
- Stinging
- Irritation
- Itching
- Sneezing
If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.
Warnings
Sudafed Blocked Nose Spray may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
Talk to your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist before using this medicine if:
- You have high blood pressure
- You have heart disease
- You have an overactive thyroid
- You have recently had neurosurgery
Using/taking other medicines
If you are taking or have recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, you must talk to your GP or pharmacist before using this product.
You should tell your healthcare provider if you are taking or have taken antidepressants in the last two weeks, in particular monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
Age restrictions
This product is not suitable for use in children under 12 years old.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before using any new medicine.
Storage information
Store in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
