What is Scholl Freeze Verruca & Wart Remover?

Scholl Freeze Verruca & Wart Remover is a home treatment for warts and verrucas. Freezing is a very effective way to get rid of pesky warts or verrucas, and this product removes the need to go to a doctor for freezing treatment, letting you complete the process in the comfort of your own home. This treatment takes just a few seconds to complete and can get rid of warts and verrucas after just one use!

What are warts and verrucas?

Warts are small lumps on the skin, which are particularly common on the hands and feet. There are a few different types of warts, with the most common being raised, firm, and rough to the touch, but verrucas are a type of flat wart which appear on the base of your foot. Warts and verrucas are caused by a virus called HPV, which causes an excess of keratin in the skin. This forms a hard layer that becomes a wart or verruca. Because they’re caused by a virus, warts and verrucas can spread through skin to skin contact or by touching contaminated surfaces.

How will Scholl Freeze Verruca & Wart Remover treat my warts or verrucas?

The Scholl Freeze Verruca & Wart Remover works by freezing your wart or verruca quickly, using a type of treatment called cryotherapy. It forms a blister on and around your wart, effectively freezing it off, and can take as little as one treatment to be successful.

How to use this product

There are 5 simple steps to using this product:

  • First, choose the best size of applicator bud to use on your wart or verruca and attach it to the white plastic cap by pushing the end into the larger opening of the cap.
  • Place the can upright on a table or other surface and place the cap on the can, with the applicator bud sitting in the clear plastic shield as shown on the product packaging.
  • Keep the can upright and press the cap down firmly for 5 seconds.
  • Remove the cap from the can, keeping the applicator bud attached to it, and wait for 15 seconds with the bud pointing downwards. This will give the liquid time to collect at the bottom of the applicator bud and reach freezing temperatures.
  • With the verruca or wart facing upwards and the applicator bur pointing straight down, place the tip of the bud onto the centre of the verruca or wart for 40 seconds and no longer. It may help to set a timer so you can keep track of time accurately. Do not dab the area with the bud. Discard the applicator bud after one use.

After treatment, a blister will form in the area and your verruca or wart will usually fall off within 10 – 14 days. You may only need to use this treatment once to remove your wart or verruca, but you can use it up to 4 times if necessary. Do not treat the same wart or verruca more than 4 times in total.
