What is Otrivine Congestion Relief Nasal Spray?

Otrivine Congestion Relief Nasal Spray is a form of medication that will provide relief for the effects of nasal congestion from an allergy such as hay fever, or a cold. The active ingredient in this nasal spray is xylometazoline hydrochloride which works by opening up the nasal passages. This is done by reducing the swelling in the blood vessels caused by an allergy or cold.

How does nasal congestion occur?

Nasal congestion happens because of the blood vessels swelling up due to irritation or inflammation in the nose. This can be caused by a cold or the flu, as well as an allergy. Irritants such as tobacco smoke and car exhausts can also cause nasal congestion. Nasal congestion occurs as a result of the blood vessels in the nose swelling up which occurs because of the immune system which attacks them.
