What is Nicorette Quickmist?

Nicorette Quickmist is a quick and simple mouth spray that can help you to quit smoking. It helps to reduce your nicotine cravings, reducing the urge to smoke and helping you to cut down or quit smoking entirely. Nicorette QuickMist Duo is available in Fresh Mint and Cool Berry flavours.

Who is Nicorette Quickmist suitable for?

It can only be sold and used by adults and children aged 12 and over who are looking to quit smoking. It is suitable for both light and heavy smokers, as the dosage can be adjusted to suit your needs. If you’re looking for a way to help yourself quit smoking that can be used in smoke-free areas, Nicorette Quickmist could be the solution you’ve been looking for.

Why is it so difficult to quit smoking?

Quitting smoking sounds simple, but anyone who’s tried to quit will tell you that it’s much more difficult than it sounds. This is because your body becomes dependent on the nicotine in cigarettes and when you try to quit your body goes through withdrawal symptoms. This makes you crave cigarettes, making you feel like quitting is impossible. However, some options can help to make quitting smoking easier, increasing your chances of quitting for good.

How does this spray use NRT to ease my nicotine cravings?

Nicorette QuickMist Duo uses a method called Nicotine Replacement Therapy or NRT to help you to quit smoking. It contains 1mg of nicotine in every spray, giving your body the nicotine, it craves without having to smoke. In this way, it replaces your cigarettes or cigars, helping you to manage your cravings and withdrawal symptoms as you quit without the harmful effects of smoking.

Can this Nicorette Spray be used by someone pregnant or breastfeeding?

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to your doctor or chemist 4 U pharmacist before using Nicorette Quickmist or any other medication. Some medications may not be safe for you and your baby while you are pregnant or breastfeeding and a medical professional can help you to make the best choices when it comes to medication. NRT treatments such as this product can be used during pregnancy, however, it is much safer for you and your baby if you quit without using NRT, as the nicotine in this product can pass to your baby.

Can this Nicorette Spray be used with medication?

You should speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this product if you are taking any other medication, including those obtained without a prescription. Some medications can interact when used together, causing unwanted side effects or making your medication less effective. You should specifically speak to your doctor if you are taking medicines such as theophylline, clozapine, or ropinirole, as quitting smoking could mean that your dosage of these medications needs to be changed.

Will I experience nicotine withdrawal while using this product?

If you are reducing the amount of nicotine you take into your system, or use too little of Nicorette Quickmist before you are ready to reduce your nicotine intake, you may experience unwanted side effects related with nicotine withdrawal. This is why it’s so important to use the correct dose of this product. Some common symptoms of nicotine withdrawal include:

  • Irritability or aggression
  • Feeling impatient or frustrated
  • Feeling low
  • Anxiety
  • Restlessness
  • Poor concentration
  • Increased appetite or weight gain
  • Craving nicotine or wanting to smoke
  • Sleep disturbance or insomnia
  • Lowering your heart rate
  • Constipation
  • Bleeding gums
  • Dizziness, light-headedness
  • Sore throat, stuffy or runny nose

How should Nicorette QuickMist be used?

To use your Nicorette QuickMist spray, first prime the pump as explained in the patient information leaflet and then point the spray nozzle into your open mouth, holding as close to your mouth as possible. Press the button on the top of the spray to spray the mist into your mouth once. Do not inhale while spraying the product into your mouth. For best results, do not swallow for a few seconds after using this spray.

How much of this product should I use?

Using the right amount of this product is essential to help you to control your nicotine cravings. When you begin using this product, use one spray when you would normally smoke or notice that you are craving nicotine. If your cravings don’t disappear within a few minutes, use a second spray. If you do need 2 sprays to control your cravings, you can use 2 sprays with every dosage from now on. Most people will need to use 1 – 2 sprays every 30 – 60 minutes. Do not use more than 2 sprays in each dose and do not use more than 4 sprays an hour. Do not use more than 64 sprays in any 24 hours.

When should Nicorette QuickMist Duo not be used?

Nicorette QuickMist is not suitable for use by children under the age of 12. Do not use this product if you are allergic to nicotine or any of the other listed ingredients. Speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this product if you:
