What are Gaviscon Tablets?

Gaviscon Tablets are chewable tablets which can help to ease heartburn and acid reflux. Simply chew and swallow these tablets after meals and before bed to ease that irritating heartburn, any time, anywhere. These chewable tablets are available in delicious strawberry and peppermint flavours and are suitable for anyone over the age of 12.

What is heartburn?

Heartburn is a common condition that’s actually a symptom of acid reflux. Lots of people experience heartburn or acid reflux, and although it usually isn’t anything serious, it can be really annoying. Some of the most common symptoms of acid reflux that you may experience as well as heartburn include:

  • A sore throat
  • A hoarse voice
  • A cough
  • Hiccoughs
  • Bad breath
  • A bad taste in the mouth
  • Bloating
  • Feeling sick

How will Gaviscon Chewable Tablets help to ease my heartburn?

Gaviscon Chewable Tablets contain three active ingredients, sodium alginate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, and calcium carbonate. These ingredients work by acting as ‘reflux suppressants’, which means that they form a protective layer over the contents of your stomach, including stomach acid. This keeps stomach acid from moving up your food pipe and irritating its lining, tackling acid reflux symptoms at their source.
