What are Calpol Infant Sachets?

Calpol Infant Sachets are ideal for infants and children who are suffering from pain, fever, colds or flu. Their delicious sugar-free strawberry flavour means that your child won’t make a fuss when it’s time to take their medicine, making it easier than ever to relieve your baby’s cold and flu symptoms.

How can I tell if my baby has a cold?

If your baby has a cold you will notice the same kinds of symptoms that older children and adults suffer from when they have a cold. Some of the most common cold symptoms you may notice in your infant include:

  • Headaches
  • Other aches and pains
  • Coughs
  • Sneezes
  • Blocked or a runny nose
  • High temperature and fever
  • A sore throat

How will this medicine help to ease my baby’s cold, flu, or headaches?

Calpol Infant Sachets contain the active ingredient paracetamol, a popular painkiller which helps to ease pain caused by headaches, cold and flu, earache, sore throat, teething, and other aches and pains. Paracetamol can also help to reduce fever or high temperatures, helping to ease these symptoms when your infant has a cold or the flu.

How to use Calpol Infant Sachets

Each Calpol Infant Sachet contains 5ml of medicine, helping you to measure the best possible dosage for your infant. This pack also includes a double-ended spoon that can help you to measure 2.5ml and 5ml of medicine. Use the spoon provided to measure the dose recommended for your infant and give them one dose up to 4 times a day. Make sure to leave at least 4 hours between doses and do not give your child more than 4 doses in any 24-hour period. For more information about the exact dose you should give to your child, please read the patient information leaflet.

Why do I have to answer questions to buy this product?

You do not need a prescription for Calpol Infant Sachets, however, you will be asked to complete a short medical questionnaire by your Chemist 4 U pharmacist before we can take your order. This includes some simple questions that all pharmacies legally are required to ask before supplying this kind of product. This helps our pharmacy team to be sure that this product is the best choice for you.

When should Calpol Infant Sachets not be used?

Calpol Infant Sachets are not suitable for use by children under the age of 2 months, or infants who weigh less than 4kg or were born before 37 weeks. Do not use this product if you or your child are allergic to paracetamol or any of the other listed ingredients. Do not take Calpol Infant Sachets if you or your child:

Advice & Guides

Can I take two painkillers at once?

Sometimes when you take painkillers you find that although they make your headache, backache, or whatever your aches and pains you’re trying to treat a bit better, they don’t quite do the job.

This is when you might consider picking up another painkiller to try to kick that pain to the curb. But how do you know if this is safe? Can you take more than one painkiller at once?

If you’ve ever looked into your medicine cabinet and asked yourself one of these questions then you’ve come to the right place.
