Benylin Cold & Flu Max Strength - 16 Capsules are designed to provide you with relief from cold and flu symptoms.
How Benylin Cold & Flu Max Strength works
Benylin Cold & Flu Max Strength contains 3 active ingredients. It contains paracetamol which helps to relieve pain and reduce your temperature.
The second ingredient is pseudoephedrine, a decongestant which helps to unblock your nose and sinuses.
Finally, the capsules contain caffeine which acts as a stimulant. It helps with fatigue and tiredness.
Directions
Always take Benylin Cold & Flu Max Strength exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you.
Take 2 capsules every 4-6 hours up to 4 times a day.
Leave at least 4 hours between doses. Do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours.
Side effects
Like all medicines, Benylin Cold & Flu Max Strength may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects include:
- Feeling sick or vomiting
- Headaches
- Dizziness
- Difficulty sleeping
- Restlessness
- Anxiety
- Irritability
- Increase in blood pressure
- Increased heart rate
- Palpitations
- Difficulty passing urine
If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.
Warnings
Benylin Cold & Flu Max Strength may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not take these capsules if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if:
- You have heart disease
- You have high blood pressure
- You have an overactive thyroid gland
- You have a tumour of the adrenal gland
- You have an enlarged prostate gland
- You have closed-angle glaucoma
Talk to your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist before taking this medicine if:
- You have kidney or liver problems
- You have diabetes
- You have blood circulation problems such as Raynaud’s disease
Using/taking other medicines
If you are taking or have recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist before taking this medication.
You should discuss it with a healthcare professional if you are taking the following medication:
- Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)
- Selegiline, safinamide and rasagiline (used to treat Parkinson’s)
- Stimulants including methylphenidate, dexamphetamine and modafinil
- Appetite suppressants
- Linezolid
- Tricyclic antidepressants
- Medication for blood pressure
- Cholestyramine
- Exenatide, lixisenatide, liraglutide (antibiotics)
- Imatinib or busulfan (anti-cancer medicines)
Age restrictions
This product is not suitable for children under 16 years old.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before taking any new medicine.
Driving and operating machinery
This medication might cause drowsiness. If you are affected do not drive or operate machinery until you feel safe enough to do so.
Storage information
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
