What is Biotene Oral Balance Saliva Replacement Gel 50g?
Biotene Gel is a saliva replacement that helps protect the mouth from potentially harmful bacteria. Dry mouth, which reduces the amount of saliva in the mouth, is caused by some medications and treatments as well as diabetes.
Who is Biotene Gel suitable for?
It is suitable for adults and children aged 12 and over. It is not suitable for anyone who is allergic to the ingredients contained in the gel. These are:
- Glycerine
- Aqua
- Sorbitol
- Xylitol
- Carbomer
- Hydroxyethylcellulose
- Sodium hydroxide
- Propyl paraben
Is Biotene Gel suitable for someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using Biotene Gel.
Can it be used with other medication?
It can be used with some types of medication, particularly ones that cause dry mouth. However, you should speak to a doctor before using.
How do I use the gel?
To use this gel, put 1-2cm on your tongue and spread it thoroughly inside the mouth.
