Frequently Asked Questions

How does hair removal cream work?

Hair removal cream is a great option if you’re looking to avoid shaving (and those painful razor bumps and ingrown hairs which follow!)

Hair removal creams contain alkaline chemicals that react with the hair, breaking down the keratin (the protein structure) which causes it to weaken.

It’s turned into a jelly-like state which makes it very easy to wipe away the hair.

Can I use hair removal cream on my bikini line?

Veet hair removal creams can be used around your bikini line, but. you'll need to take extra care and avoid any intimate areas. Creams for normal and dry skin generally take 3 - 6 minutes to work, while creams for sensitive skin take 5 - 10 minutes. Always do a patch test before using a new hair removal cream.

Is shaving better than waxing?

One isn’t better than the other and it will simply depend on personal preference and with any hair removal treatment, there’s always some risk involved.

If you’re thinking about using wax to remove unwanted hair, it might not be a good idea if your skin is sensitive or you’ve had an allergic reaction to waxing in the past.

Shaving is usually a better option if you’ve got sensitive skin as long as you prepare well and are gentle - razors are sharp, after all!

Are wax strips suitable for sensitive skin?

The products in waxing strips vary - it’s best to read the ingredient list for any potential irritants or see if it specifically mentions whether its formula is suitable for sensitive skin.

You should also do a small patch test to see how your skin reacts with the wax strip before applying the full strip.
