Non Drowsy Sinutab

Sinutab tablets give non drowsy relief from nasal and sinus congestion with pain.

 

Contains paracetamol + decongestant

 clears nasal and sinus congestion

 relieves headache and pain

 

Non-Drowsy Sinutab

Nasal and sinus congestion are widespread problems, which can cause pain and headache.

 

Sinutab is formulated to relieve pain and, at the same time, to clear the congestion in the sinuses that cause the pain.

 

Sinutab also provides relief from congestive symptoms and pain or fever associated with the common cold, influenza, hay fever and sinusitis. Causes no drowsiness

This medicine is available without prescription, for you to treat a mild illness without a doctor's help. Nevertheless, you still need to use Non-Drowsy Sinutab carefully to get the best results from it.

What Non-Drowsy Sinutab is and what it is used for

Non-Drowsy Sinutab contains the active ingredients: Paracetamol 500 mg and Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 30 mg per tablet.

 

The tablets also contain pregelatinised maize starch, crospovidone, povidone K30, stearic acid, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycollate, magnesium stearate.

 

Non-Drowsy Sinutab relieves the symptoms of colds and flu including aches, pains, fever, nasal and sinus congestion.

 

The tablets contain Paracetamol, an analgesic and antipyretic to relieve pain and fever and Pseudoephedrine, a decongestant to clear nasal congestion and blocked sinuses.

 

Before you take Non-Drowsy Sinutab

Do not take Non-Drowsy Sinutab if:

· You are allergic to any of the ingredients.

 

· You are taking or have taken within the last two weeks, Monoamine Oxidase inhibitors (MAQI's), which are a type of drug for depression.

 

· You have high blood pressure or heart disease.

 

Take special care with Non-Drowsy Sinutab if:

· You have prostate disease, diabetes, glaucoma (pressure in the eye) or an overactive thyroid.

 

· You have liver or kidney disorders.

 

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.

 

Taking other medicines

Take special care if you are taking other medicines including:

· Tricyclic antidepressants

· Colestyramine (to lower blood cholesterol)

· Metoclopramide and domperidone (to treat nausea and vomiting)

· Anti-coagulants (to thin the blood e.g. warfarin)

· Sedatives or alcohol

· Decongestants, appetite suppressants or stimulants

· Medicines to treat high blood pressure (e.g. bretylium, betanidine, guanethidine, debrisoquine, methyldopa, alpha and beta adrenergic blocking agents)

 

You can use this product while you are taking oral contraceptives ('the pill') or tablets for epilepsy, but Non-Drowsy Sinutab may not work as well as you might have expected.

 

If you are unsure if another medicine you are taking is one of those mentioned above, then show the pack to your pharmacist

 

Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken, any other medicine - even those not prescribed.

 

How to take Non-Drowsy Sinutab

For Oral use Adults and children 12 years and over: Two tablets every four to six hours up to four times a day. Maximum of 8 tablets in 24 hours.

 

Children aged 6 to 12 years: One tablet every four to six hours, up to four times a day. Maximum of 4 tablets in 24hours.

 

Children under 6 years: not recommended.

 

If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is time for your next dose. Do not take two doses at the same time.

 

If you take more Non-Drowsy Sinutab than you should, talk to a doctor or a pharmacist. Immediate medical advice should be sought in the event of an overdose even if you well because of the risk of delayed, serious liver damage.

 

Do not take with any other paracetamol or pseudoephedrine containing product.

 

Possible side-effects

Like all medicines Non-Drowsy Sinutab can have side-effects. Although these are rare, they are usually mild and temporary. Tell your doctor if you notice any of the following:

· Skin rash

· Difficulty sleeping

· Difficulty in passing urine

· Hallucinations

 

There have been rare reports of blood disorders, but these were not necessarily related to paracetamol. There have also been rare reports of liver and kidney damage following prolonged use of paracetamol.

 

If you notice any side-effects not mentioned in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.

Keep Non-Drowsy Sinutab out of the reach and sight of children

Do not use after the expiry date on the label

Return any out-of-date medicine to your pharmacist

Do not store above 25°C
