PERSONA - a natural method of contraception that identifies the fertile days of a woman's cycle

PERSONA offers women the choice of a natural method of contraception, working in harmony with their bodies. It works non-invasively by monitoring hormone levels in urine. This method of contraception is ideally suitable for women in stable relationships who intend to have children in the future and who have regular cycles between 23 and 35 days in length.

PERSONA consists of a small hand held monitor and simple, disposable urine test sticks. During the testing, these sticks collect hormones from the urine and convert them into information that the monitor is able to interpret. A green or red light on the monitor then indicates whether the user is free to make love without a contraceptive*.  

* Based on independent studies, PERSONA is 94% effective when used according to instructions and as the only method of contraception. This means that if 100 women used PERSONA for one year, 6 are expected to become pregnant due to PERSONA incorrectly identifying the fertile days.
