Asilone Antacid Tablets possess both antacid and antiflatulent properties, which are long established.
Aluminium hydroxide is an antacid. Activated dimeticone acts on gas bubbles, thus providing the antiflatulent properties.
Use:
Asilone Antacid Tablets are an antacid and antiflatulent, used for the relief of dyspepsia (indigestion) and flatulence (wind), associated with heartburn, hiatus hernia, swollen stomach and inflammation of the oesophagus (gullet).
Asilone antacid tablets contains the following active ingredients: Activated dimeticone 270mg, dried aluminium hydroxide 500mg
They also contain the following inactive ingredients: Sucrose, sorbitol, purified talc, menthol, peppermint oil.
Before use:
The following information should be read before using this medicine:
Do not use if you are sensitive to any of the ingredients
Do not use if you suffer from acute porphyria or hypophosphataemia (low levels of phosphate in your blood)
Do not use during pregnancy unless the doctor tells you to
Do not use in cases of severe debilitation (loss of strength)
Do not use if you suffer from problems with your kidneys
Do not use in children under 12 years of age
If you are pregnant or breast feeding, consult your doctor before using this product
Antacids may affect the absorption of other medicines such as tetracycline, rifampicin, warfarin digoxin or quinolone antibacterials (e.g. ciprofloxacin), therefore allow 2 hours between taking Asilone Antacid Tablets and other medicines
If you suffer from a swollen stomach associated with an intestinal obstruction, consult your doctor before using this product
Each tablets contains 1.1 g of sucrose, this should be taken into account in patients with diabetes mellitus. Also if you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking these tablets as they contain sucrose and sorbitol (E420).

How to use:
Adults, including the elderly: One or two tablets chewed or sucked before meals and at bedtime. For heartburn, they should be sucked slowly.
Children:
Asilone antacid tablets are not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
If you take too many Asilone antacid tablets , consult your doctor who will advise you on any necessary action to take.
Side-effects:
Rarely some patients have experienced constipation after using Asilone Antacid Tablets. The sorbitol content of this product can cause stomach upset and diarrhoea.
Should you experience these or any other types of reaction following the use of this product, discontinue its use immediately and consult your doctor or pharmacist, who will advise you on the necessary action to take.
