Alka-Seltzer Original Tablets 20 Tablets

Indications

For the relief of headache with upset stomach. 

For mild to moderate pain including headache, neuralgia, migraine, toothache, sore throat, period pain, aches and pains, symptomatic relief of sprains, strains rheumatic pain, sciatica, lumbago, fibrositis, muscular aches and pains. 

Directions

Adults: 2 tablets in water every 4 hours as required. 

Maximum 8 tablets in 24 hours. 

Children: not recommended except on medical advice. 

Ingredients

Effervescent tablet containing: Sodium bicarbonate 1625mg, Citric acid (anhydrous) 965mg, Aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) 324 mg. 

Also available as Alka-Seltzer (lemon flavour). 

Warnings

Do not take aspirin if you are allergic to aspirin or to any other ingredients, have a stomach ulcer or have haemophilia. 

Avoid in asthmatics and pregnancy particularly the final trimester. 

Aspirin has also been associated with increased risk of Reye's Syndrome when given to children with a fever. 

For this reason the use of aspirin is not recommended in children under 12 years of age. 

You should ask your doctor before taking aspirin if you are taking medicines for blood clots (thrombosis) such as warfarin or gout such as probenecid
